More German-Iranian "Dialogue"

Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder used the occasion of his four day visit in Tehran last week to criticize Iranian Holocaust denial. “The Holocaust is a historical fact,” Schröder is reported to have said, “and it makes no sense to deny this unparalleled crime.” This was perhaps intended as friendly advice, since Schröder evidently does not believe that the Iranian government’s Holocaust denial or its associated threats against Israel are any reason to curtail relations with Iran.

A Suicidal Proposition

There has been much talk recently of sending Guantánamo detainees to Europe. That the idea could even be seriously considered in America provides a measure of how woefully misinformed or under-informed the American public has been about the nature and methods of international Jihadist activism. Did Louis Michel Blame Hamas for Gaza Violence?

Last week, numerous news outlets, following the lead of the AFP, reported that EU Humanitarian Aid Commissioner Louis Michel had placed the blame for the violence in Gaza squarely on Hamas. Did he? Well, no. In fact, Louis Michel repeated the exact same charges against Israel that he had made two weeks earlier: accusing Israel of “flagrant violations of international humanitarian law” – otherwise known as war crimes. For the details, see my new article on Pajamas Media here.
